Schuhplattler News – June 1978
On Sunday, May 7, the Schuhplattlers had the honor of representing Germany at the Philadelphia Folk Fair which was held in the Civic Center. Eight couples stepped into the Civic Center’s spotlight and delighted the crowd with three of their lively and colorful dances.
Ruth Herbert and Werner Fricker represented the German community in the grand march at the start of the show when a couple from each nation paid their respects to the United States and to a little lady portraying the Statue of Liberty.
The group would like to invite and encourage all club members and friends to come out to the club on Saturday, June 10, for an evening of fun and entertainment. That night has been named Schuhplattler Night and naturally, the Schuhplattler group will perform.
New dances will make their debut that evening, as well as the old favorites. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on the tenth.
COME JOIN US AND HAVE FUN
