HORSHAM, PA – Christian Knittel of Colonial Soccer Club became the President of the United Soccer League of Pennsylvania on Monday, June 2, 2025. His election was unanimous.
Werner Fricker III, decided to not seek re-election as President or Games Commissioner. Fricker III, first served the United League as a trustee in 2008. He was then elected as the General Secretary in 2009 holding that position until 2016. He was then elected President in 2016 holding office for 9 years. He also served in recent years as the Games Commissioner. For his efforts Fricker III was named Administrator of the Year by SEPA in 2022.
Werner thanked the USLPA Board, the clubs, the teams, and the players for all their support over the years. He made a special note of gratitude to his fellow German Hungarians. He also made note of his own excitement for new leadership which is important and good for our historic league.
At the annual meeting held at the Ukrainian American Sports center, Fricker was elected as a Trustee of the USLPA. He is returning to the position he started with in the league 17 years ago. Werner also remains the 2nd Vice President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association.

The United Soccer League was founded in 1959. The United German Hungarians were one of the six founding clubs along with, Phoenix SC, Schwarzwald Kickers, Kolping SC, Vereinigung Erzgebirge, & the Reading Americans. Frank Follmer, Werner Fricker, John Piatka, & John Weber were among the founders.
