This is a favorite of mine and Mike’s on a cozy day in. Our special tip is that you can serve with mashed potatoes, spätzle, rice, or bread!

Ingredients
- 1 large chuck roast
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Onion powder, to taste
- ½ bag baby carrots
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- ½ packet ranch dressing seasoning mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 32 oz beef broth
Instructions
- Place the chuck roast in the bottom of your crock pot.
- Season the top with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. (Measure with your heart here—add as much or as little as you like.)
- Scatter the baby carrots over the roast.
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix, ranch seasoning, au jus mix, and brown gravy mix evenly over the carrots and meat.
- Stir the carrots around to help distribute the seasoning.
- Pour the beef broth over everything.
- Cover and cook:
- Low: 8 hours
- High: 4–4½ hours
Tip
Serve with mashed potatoes, spätzle,
rice, or bread.
