Match Report – German Hungarians 2:1 Colonial on 2/16 & J. Gravelle with the Game Winner

Colonial SC has the last few years been a thorn in our side. They are a team of a certain level and have often gotten a win over us or worse that more unsatisfying draw.

The first half of this USLPA match that took place on Thursday night went scoreless and seemed very much like a first match back for both teams.

Around the 55th minute, however our own Koty Taylor was able to put one past Colonial giving us a what would be a short-lived lead. In the 60th our guard was down, and Colonial tied it up.

As we do from time to time, the German Hungarians were thanking the big man we still have the likes of John Gravelle to send into the breach when we need him. A 90th-plus minute header off a corner kick and Gravelle gave us the match winner.

We are currently holding the first-place spot in the Major Division with a 5-2-0 record.

Mark your calendars for 2/25 (yes that’s a Saturday) as the boys enter the Semi-Final of the EPSA Open Cup against Erzgebirge. The match will be at 1pm at Bryn Athyn.
