Match Reports – Women Win but Men Lose to Colonial on 9/22

Major Women Recap

First home game of the season and the women came out ready to play with a full roster and 5 subs. Colonial has been one of the top 3 teams in this league for many years so we knew that we should have a quality game.

We came out fast and early, scoring our first goal with relentless pressure which put us on top 1:0 within the first five minutes. Keeping the pace at a high level we made it 2:0 within the first 15 minutes of the game. Colonial started to come around and equaled our pressure for the next 10 minutes until we scored our third goal 35 minutes in. Colonial scored their firstย goal in the last five minutes of the first half on a defensiveย lapse to end the first half 3:1 in favor of the German Hungarians.

We started the second half the same way as we startedย the game with high pressure whichย made most of the half pretty equal since Colonial started to find their game. Midway through the second half on the rush with some beautifulย sideline to sideline work we scored a very pretty one timer goal to make it 4:1. Colonial scored a late goal to close the game with a 4:2 final in favor of U.G.H. A 2:0 record to start the season in a new league is a good feeling so far.

Goal scores for U.G.H. were Brandy Bartowcliff, Maggie Daeche, Allysa Dionisio and Kara Waskewicz. Keeper was Cassidy Dawson.ย

The women take on HVAA on 9/29 at 10:00am at Valley Center Park (445 Red Lion Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006).

Around the 60th minute colonial equalized things and with 10 minutes left in the match countered making the final score 2:1.
