Lamar Hunt US Open Cup; Oswald Jethon on CBS Sports Golazo

Sunday, 10/1 is our double-header tailgate with the women taking on Philadelphia Flames SC at noon in a United Soccer League of Pennsylvania match, and the men facing Real Central NJ (EPSL) in the Second Qualifying round of the US Open Cup! Werner Fricker Jr., shared with us this great video with us about the origins of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup from what seems to be a new 24-Hour free streaming soccer channel, CBS Sports Golazo:

It’s a great video from start to finish but you will see around the 1:20 second mark, Oswald “Ozzie” Jethon playing with our friends the Ukrainian Nationals. Jethon Played for our club for many years in the late 50s and early 60s. He was also a member of the Sport Club dance group for a time. Known as a great player Ozzie, during his time with our club was often signed to play with great professional clubs like the Ukrainian Nationals.

Soccer, in our area and as a part of the German Hungarians has a great history, but it lives on today as a sport in which we have a social connection. Sunday we have a great chance to watch both out teams; men and women.

Join us for the an extended 💯 Years of Soccer Celebration. The SuperFans will be gathering for a tailgate style party!

Matches are at Temple Ambler Campus (Woods Dr at E Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002)

Please bring drinks and snacks to share! Look for our tents and banner! Wear your German Hungarian apparel!

This is a great chance for our members & friends to spend a Sunday Funday together and support our two teams at the same time!

Mark your Calendars now also for another Double-Header Tailgate at Temple Ambler on 10/8!
