“…an enormous annual subscription fee of ONE DOLLAR.” (from the Monthly Progress in 1966)

Monthly Progress, Volume 21, No. 2 – February 1966

Subscription

In our previous issue we explained at length why we found necessary to charge an annual subscription fee of (1) dollar for the Monthly Progress. Quite a few subscriptions have been received to date, but many members have not responded. We wish everyone felt the same about our Club paper as does John Mayersfeld, our ex-President and former soccer star who has been living in Franconia, N.H., for the past ten years.

John was one of the first to send in his remittance and said in an accompanying letter that he was thankful to the Club for having received the paper regularly John wrote in part: “The wife and I enjoyed every issue. It was like receiving a letter from home.”

As a memory jogger we are repeating the concluding portion of last month’s explanatory article:

In order to cover additional mailing costs, the decision was reached to charge every interested person an enormous annual subscription fee of ONE DOLLAR. In other words, if you want the Progress, it costs you one whole dollar per year, and if you don’t pay the buck you don’t get the paper. There’s nothing compulsoryโ€”you make your own choice. If you decide to stick with us, fill in the coupon below and send it and your remittance to: Ted Kereczmann, 8138 Farnsworth St., Phila., PA 19152. Check or money order should be made payable to United German-Hungarians. We thank you.
