A small but jolly group of our members attended the Enzian Volkstanzgruppe 53rd Stiftungsfest on Saturday, September 11th at the Delaware Saengerbund in Newark, DE.
A change to the affair this year seemingly due to COVID was the event being held outside under the pavilion. It made for a pleasant and fresh evening we all I think enjoyed. The Ein Marsch as well as the evening was accompanied by the hosts house band the Enzian Kapelle. After the national anthems a moment of silence was called remembering all those this great nation lost in 2001. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was none other than the Vorstand of the EVTG, Brian Schulz, who made introductions of all the attending clubs as well as the smallest of folks attending that night, a shared member between the Delaware club and our own organization; Michael Kredler Fricker.
Many laughs were had, and it was nice to see friends not seen in some time. The evening was an intimate affair, like those of old with good music, some top notch dance performances, food, beverage, and fun. As the time wound on the party moved inside to the famous Bauernstube and I think it is safe to say, a good time was had by all.
German Hungarians in attendance were: Alex Blank, Chris, Nichole, & Christopher Deely, Werner & Lisa Fricker, Marlene Fricker, Michael Fricker, Allyssa Schulz-Fricker, Michael K Fricker, and Sasha & Janet Malofiy.
