NEWARK, DE – On Sunday, July 6 the United German Hungarians were announced as the 2nd place winner of the Gruppen Preisplatteln competition held at the 30. Gaufest. This festival was hosted by the United German Hungarians as well as Enzian Volkstanzgruppe at the Delaware Sengerbund.

- 2nd – United German Hungarians, Philadelphia, PA
- 3rd – GTEV Die Gemuetlichen Enzianer, Franklin Square, NY
- 4th – Schuhplattler und Trachtenverein Bavaria, Cleveland, OH
- 5th – Schuhplattler VV Original Enzian, NY
The top three ranking clubs are awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals. This 2nd place finish marks the ninth time the German Hungarians have placed in the top three. It is only the second time we have been awarded second place. The first time we placed second was in 2003 (when we were also hosts of the Gaufest in Philadelphia) We have placed third in 1993, 1995, 1997, 2022, and 2023. We also placed first in 1999 and in 2007.
In addition to this group achievement one of our dancers won an individual award:
- Evangeline Noel (Ages 12-15): 3rd Place
