Members, Alex Blank, Karen David, Nichole Blank Deely, Michael Fricker, Allyssa Schulz-Fricker, Susi Hartmann, and Janet Fricker Malofiy traveled by van on Thursday, April 30 to Buffalo for the Gauverband Nordamerika’s Delegates’ Meeting. Morgan Schulz and dad Brian made their way by air the same afternoon. Sisters Allyssa and Morgan though members of our club were attending the meeting under their home club Enzian Volkstanzgruppe. It was brought to my attention that Allyssa was a designated alternate for the EVTG, Morgan was only an observer. Morgan did assist the Schriftführerin taking minutes in the general sessions.
The meeting was hosted by SGTV Edelweiss in Buffalo, New York. Friday evening guests were invited to Maifest at the Hofbräuhaus. Welcome packets were also picked up at this location. The Gauverband Board, sometimes called the “Gauausschuß” held meetings at this location all day Friday. This included a final report from our club and Delaware on the 30. Gaufest.
It was a nice welcome evening where we were able to greet fellow clubs and delegates. The host club performed some nice dancing and our own Allyssa Schulz won the Chicken Dance Contest. She was happy to share her prize: a liter sized Bloody Mary!
Meetings on Saturday were lively, well attended and interesting. Saturday ended with a banquet dinner and dance workshop.
