Festival season has been a whirlwind for the dancers. We’ve had performances at Danubia, Erzgebirge, Heritage Creek, Lansdale, Kennett Creamery, and the Armory! Weather canceled St. Paul’s in Glenside, and Schmitz South Street but HK still made a day of it in the rain downtown.
When it came time for the Armory, a few seasoned dancers made it onto PHL17. You can still watch the clips!

The dancers will perform for Trenton Donauschwaben on October 24 to help celebrate their 70th Anniversary! Three cheers for the Trentonians! Seems like just yesterday when we danced at their 60th!

Now that Oktoberfest is finished, it’s officially KIRCHWEIH SEASON! Make your reservations today to join us on November 1.
It’s fitting that this year’s Kirchweih falls on November 1, All Saints’ Day, with All Souls’ Day taking place on Monday the 2nd.
Perhaps we can ask for the intercession of St. John Neumann (patron saint of immigrants and Philadelphia’s famous bishop) for the success of the Kirchweih and for the repose of the souls of our faithfully departed members.

Pennies are retired, but the Women’s Auxiliary Penny Party is still going and going strong.
Apparently, there was some confusion last go-around about what Venmo can be used for, so that’s been clarified on this shiny flyer. Venmo is acceptable for entrance tickets. The official German Hungarians Venmo handle is @ughclub.
The Penny Party is an essential and successful event for our club. The Women’s Auxiliary should be commended for upkeeping the tradition.
For us men, what happens there at the event will always be shrouded in mystery, just how we like it!

The dance group is practicing on Friday, November 6, and Friday, December 4, instead of the usual Tuesdays those weeks. Free on a Friday, and not a dancer? Come out to watch practice and enjoy some camaraderie! The Board of Governors will meet on December 4 as well.
