Ingredients
5lb boneless pork shoulder, trimmed of fat and cubed
2 Tbsp butter
3 medium onions, chopped
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 Tbsp tomato paste
4 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp marjoram or oregano
Dash of cayenne, optional
1 Tbsp cornstarch, optional
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
- Melt butter in a large pot and add onions and garlic, cook onions over medium heat until they are translucent
- Stir in tomato paste then turn heat to low and add in spices, stir and allow them to cook for 1 minute
- Add meat to the pot, season with salt and pepper and add water to cover (I used about 4-5 cups)
- Turn heat to high and bring to a boil then reduce and simmer for 1 hour
- I wanted the broth a little thicker so I mixed 1 Tbsp of cornstarch with 2 Tbsp of cold water and stirred it in at the end
- Adjust seasoning and serve over butter egg noodles
